Search Engines

The Search Engines task is used to select search engines for rankings and other tasks. The search engine displayed depend on the Engine Packs you have purchased. The Type column shows what Engine Pack a particular search engine belongs to. This is generally the third step to complete when creating a new project.

Quick Report

The Quick Report button allows you to print lists of your categories and search engines.

You can print...

  • A list of search engines grouped by category.
  • A list of search engines only.
  • Or, a list of category names only.

Categories List

The Categories list displays the standard and user defined search engine categories in your project. Categories can be used for both ranking and reporting. For instance, you might create a category with just News search engines when looking for press releases.

You can create new categories by...

  • Selecting search engines and right-clicking.
  • Selecting search engines and dragging them to the categories list.
  • Right-click the categories list and Add or Duplicate a current category.
  • Click the Plus button in the bottom left corner.

Search Engine List

The Search Engine list displays the available search engines in your project. It also allows you to sort the search engines, or randomize them, using the column headers. Each category can have it's own sort order.

In the Professional edition you can choose to have your search engines displayed in your chosen order on the reports.
