Report Tab

The Report tab allows you to change settings on the report that don't have to do with the actual data displayed. This includes the report name, headers and footer, notes, fonts and print margins, and export and email settings. Use the Report tab to also translate reports to other languages.

Name

The Name field contains the name of the report displayed in the Reports list. You can use any name you want, including duplicate names if needed. Usually, though, you'll want to give your reports a descriptive name that somewhat explains the report's purpose.

Title

The Title field contains the main title of the report, which is displayed through settings in the Header section.

Subtitle

This Subtitle field contains the text that displays below the main title in the report. Again, this text is displayed through settings in the Header section.

Report Text

The Report Text section is where you can change any of the default text that will display on a report. Use this section to translate or modify the text that displays on the report.

Header

The Header button displays a window that allows you to modify the header section on the report. By default, the report Title and Subtitle are displayed here.

Legend

The Legend button displays a window that allows you to modify what displays in the legend of the report. The legend is a table that displays below the header and typically contains the project name and the date the report was printed.

Notes

The Notes button displays a windows that allows you to modify notes on a report. Notes can be anything you want and can display at the top, bottom, or both top and bottom of the report. Usually you would use this area to describe the report and the meaning of the columns to clients.

Footer

The Footer button displays a window that allows you to modify the footer section on the report. By default this displays our company information. You should change this for your own reports.

Page Setup

The Page Setup section is where you can set the margins and orientation of the printed report and change the font used on the report. All font sizes on the report are relative to your selected base font.

Layout

The Layout button displays a window that allows you to adjust the print margins on the report (does not show in the report view), and set the orientation of the report to either landscape of portrait.

Font

The Font button displays a window that allows you to change the base font and size on the report. All other font sizes in the report are relative to your base font choice.

Export Settings

The Export Settings section is where you can modify how exported data is formatted.

CSV

The CSV button displays a window that allows you to set the output of a column heading row and change the field and row separators used.

XML

The XML button displays a window that allows you to set whether column names are used as tag names. Otherwise, generic tag names will be used.

SQL

The SQL button displays a window that allows you to adjust how the SQL statements are generated for the output. You can choose to include a drop table statement, a create table statement, and use an extended insert statement.

Miscellaneous

The Miscellaneous section is where other settings that don't actually deal with text on the report are kept.

Email

The Email button displays a window that allows you to configure where this report will go if emailed. When you click the Email button to email the report, this windows will display again giving you the opportunity to make any changes before sending the report. The scheduling feature also uses this window for email settings when they are not provided in the schedule.

Restore Defaults

The Result Defaults button will return all settings in the report back to the parent report's settings.
