In Website-Manager there are several choices for creating project files. The method you choose will depend on your needs.
File-based Project
This is the preferred project type. It's very versatile and portable. A file-based project acts just like an Microsoft Access database file. All of your project data is stored in one file, so it can be treated as any other file and included in backups. Currently, only the file-based projects can be used with a scheduling file. This means if you want to schedule your projects to run after hours, you'll need to use the file-based project type.
Server-based Project
The server-based project uses a database server instead of a file. Currently, Website-Manager supports MySQL in the Windows version. In some cases, this project type may be preferred over the file-based project when the project data gets very large. Server-based projects have the advantage of off-loading the actual queries to the server, which could amount to a huge savings in processing time on very large projects.
Memory-based Project
When you need to get in and run some test data, this is a good choice. You can not save memory-based projects. Once they are closed, you lose all the data in them. These projects offer more speed and less overhead when you're in a hurry and don't need to save the data.
