The Check Positions Task

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

When creating a new project, the Check Positions task is usually the fourth task to complete after the Search Engines task and is normally followed by the Reports task. Optionally, if you want to speed up the Check Positions task, you can go to the Engine Options task prior to this task.

Check Positions queries the search engines and takes a snapshot of the data on each page that it gathers, optimizes it, then stores it to your project file for reporting later. Matching results are determined when you run a report, not while gathering data. Gathering data this way opens the door to other types of reports that are not possible with other ranking type software.
